Patterns to take away and apply in your school.
Practical infrastructure for governance work: guides, register templates, board paper formats, scrutiny checklists. Free to download, free to share, no sign-up.
Resources are not tools.
Our School Data Check, Website Check-up, and Quality Standard are interactive tools, you run them and they tell you something about your school. Resources are different.
Resources are the patterns, templates and guides we publish for schools to take away and use. They sit alongside your existing policies and procedures, not on top of them. They are designed around the actual workload of the people who run governance in a school: Clerks, Chairs, School Business Managers, Headteachers.
Everything here is free. There is no email gate, no upsell page, no sign-up. If a school finds the patterns useful, the natural next step is SGAF Membership, which applies the same shape to every governance function in one platform.
Four resources, more coming.
Complaints Culture
A five-part pack helping schools build a complaints culture, not only a complaints procedure. Includes a guide (The Culture of Resolution), a Complaints & Concerns Register template, a Themes & Trends Report template (annual short form default, termly extended form for high-volume schools), a Governing Body Scrutiny Checklist, and an A3 staffroom poster spec.
5 artefacts · statutory grounding in Education Act 2002 & DfE 2020 guidance · staged adoption from "stand the register up" to "termly board scrutiny"
Safeguarding Culture
A five-part pack helping boards build a safeguarding culture, not only a training record. Includes a guide (Beyond the Certificate), a multi-year Safeguarding Training & Development Planner, a Safeguarding Governor Visit Record, a Safeguarding Challenge Question Bank and an Annual Safeguarding Governance Cycle.
5 artefacts · grounded in KCSIE & Sections 175/157 Education Act 2002 · one loop from training plan to feedback, minutes and linked assurance
How to Display School Policies for Accessibility
Practical guidance on how UK schools should publish statutory policies online. Covers dedicated pages versus PDF downloads, PSBAR 2018 accessibility, what good looks like, and what governing boards should look for when reviewing the policies page on the school website.
Single article · PSBAR 2018 & DfE publishing requirements · practical board checklist
School Funding Finder
A free finder that matches your school to grant funders by phase, region and focus area. It surfaces well-known UK funders worth a closer look, ranking the ones that serve your region above UK-wide funders so the most relevant options come first.
Starter set of UK funders · filter by phase, region and focus · live links to each funder's own page
One platform applies the same patterns across every governance function.
The resources here are free to take. SGAF Membership is what schools join when they want the same continuous-evidence approach running across meeting agendas, Headteacher reports, statutory compliance, governor visits, and board intelligence reports.
