Work with SGAF
Work with SGAF.
External validators, governance consultants, clerking services and school improvement partners already work alongside SGAF. Here is what that looks like today, and how to start a conversation.
No formal programme, yet. There are no tiers, no certification and no revenue share to join. The four sections below describe how people already work alongside SGAF. As demand grows, a formal version will follow. For now, this is a conversation, not an application.

Four ways people already work alongside SGAF
None of this is programmatic yet. Each of the four below is a live pattern, and a starting point for a conversation, not a package to buy into.
External validators
Independent practitioners who verify the Quality Standard
External Validation is currently delivered by Joshua Mangas, the practitioner who built the framework. As more boards work through the Quality Standard, SGAF expects to work with a small number of additional experienced governance practitioners to deliver validation alongside him. If you have current, hands-on experience reviewing school or trust governance and this sounds like work you would want to do, get in touch.

Independent advisers already working with boards
Some schools and trusts bring in an independent governance consultant alongside SGAF, to work through the framework with the board or to prepare for External Validation. If you already advise governing boards or trust boards and want to understand how the Quality Standard and the wider system fit alongside that work, we are happy to talk.

Clerks and clerking services supporting more than one board
Clerks sit closer to the governance record than almost anyone else at the table, and a number already use SGAF alongside the boards they clerk for. Whether you clerk independently, through a local authority or as part of a clerking service, and want to talk about how SGAF fits alongside that work, get in touch.

School improvement advisers and central trust teams
Governance and school improvement are usually run as separate conversations, even though a board's oversight rests on the same priorities a school improvement partner is already working to. If you support schools on school improvement, whether as an independent adviser, a local authority team or a trust central team, and want governance oversight connected to that work rather than kept apart from it, we would like to hear how.
