What we ask in return

This is not an open application. We are looking for schools where the conditions exist for the framework to work - and where the board is genuinely committed to the process.

What we're looking for

  • A headteacher and chair who are both engaged and aligned
  • A board willing to commit to structured governor visits across the year
  • A clerk or governance professional able to support the filing protocol
  • A current School Improvement Plan to work from
  • Willingness to share your experience to help shape the national framework

What this is not

  • An inspection preparation exercise - this is ongoing governance development
  • Additional workload - the framework reorganises what you already do
  • A quick fix - embedding takes a full governance year
  • Open to every school - places are limited and assessed for fit

Joshua Mangas has spent over 20 years in education across Post-16, primary and secondary settings. Working as a governance specialist across nearly 500 schools in the Northwest of England, he observed the same structural gaps showing up in boards of every type and phase.

The Governance Assurance Framework is the practical response to those patterns. Pilot schools work directly with Joshua - not with a consultant team or a support service. With the person who built it.
